What it means to be Catholic

The other day my kids found a cassette tape and asked: "what's that?" Having now moved on a generation, they only know CD's and DVDs and have no concept of cassettes or records.
Having grown up a GenXer in Catholic Cincinnati, I know for a fact that most "Catholics" friends my age have NO IDEA of the church the way it was traditionally. No idea of communion rails, kneeling for communion or, more fundamental still, that you shouldn't receive if you have a mortal sin. Just as my kids don't know about cassette tapes, people are blissfully unaware.
People don't even know What Happened to the Catholic Church.
Where it only takes a generation or two to have knowledge erased, perhaps people would do well to listen to Fr. Fenton and learn what it means to be Catholic.
